Carriacou is the place your soul longs to visit. Carriacou, the “Isle of Reefs”, is just 90 minutes by ferry or 20 minutes by plane from Grenada, and 20 minutes from Union Island. This tiny island measures only 13 square miles and has a population of 8,000.
When you visit Carriacou, you’ll find a place that has been shaped by its people. Like so many islands in the Caribbean, Carriacou was shaped by generations of African and Scottish culture coming together to create something new and wonderful. That legacy is on full display today in everything from the music and dance at parties to the amazing local cuisine that draws on traditions from both cultures while also adding new twists and flavors.
The harbor area also has several restaurants along the waterfront but for some real local dishes try the roadside vendors in Windward who will serve you up some tasty treats.
Carriacou has some of the clearest waters and most pristine coral reefs in the world—making it an ideal dive spot for snorkelers and scuba divers alike. And if you're into nature (and who isn't?), you'll find plenty of other activities here to keep you entertained
In addition to being the largest Grenadine island, Carriacou is also considered one of the “hidden gems” of Grenada. If you haven’t been here yet, make this your next destination!
